  First, I want to say that Dr. Patel is a very good man, and from what I can tell, a good Doctor also. Also the nurses are very patient and kind. I couldn’t have asked for more. Jennifer at the front desk is very sweet, too. So my rating has no direct reflection of them, but hopefully my explanation below will help those who need to understand. So why only three stars? A bad experience with calling first thing at 8:30am to get a prescription written saying it was “no problem and would be ready by lunch,” only for me to arrive and it not be ready and the nurses were at lunch. I had to wait an hour for a slip of paper that I was assured would be ready. And driving far from work or home, I didn’t have the luxury of just stopping by later to pick it up. Also, who sets the pricing for this? $60 per visit every 28 days is obscene in my humble opinion. And I have what I consider to be good insurance. That’s $800 per year just to see them, not including any prescriptions or treatment. I’m very disappointed that the American Healthcare System has in effect “criminalized pain” because of a drug epidemic that’s got nothing to do with pain or the treatment thereof. I think that Primary Care Physicians should be able to use their own discernment to the patients who have seen them for years and have tracking systems for detecting problems with abusers. Many of which are already implemented. An addict will get his/her “fix” as they say, just as alcoholics did during prohibition. All while people genuinely suffering from legitimate pain are punished for a broken system taken advantage of by others.
